Franklin Township is situated within Warren County, OH, bisected by Interstate 75, and neighboring the cities of Franklin, Springboro, Middletown, and Carlisle.
Franklin Township is one of the eleven townships of Warren County, and is one of the original four townships in the County, dating back to 1803. The governance of the township is overseen by a board of trustees composed of three members, all of whom are elected at large. Additionally, an elected fiscal officer is part of the governing body. While a major portion of the township falls under the jurisdiction of the Franklin City and Carlisle City School Districts, certain areas fall within the Springboro City and Middletown City School Districts.
The Franklin Township Comprehensive Plan serves as a roadmap for shaping future decisions, reflecting and fostering a collective vision for the Township. It is founded on the development of forward-looking strategies aimed at leveraging community strengths while addressing local challenges. This document will function as a policy guide for matters concerning community development and growth management, encompassing aspects like land development regulations (such as rezoning and conditional use permits), capital improvements (including parks, cemeteries, water, sanitary sewer, and fire stations), transportation, and initiatives for safeguarding the environment and agricultural resources (such as groundwater protection).
This plan will encompass strategies designed to support a range of community initiatives, including identity, communication, collaboration, and programming. It serves as a tool to guide and reinforce decisions related to community growth, development, and investment.
