In late 2023, the Warren County Regional Planning Commission began a comprehensive planning effort for Franklin Township, a process that will consist of many public meetings and require ample public input over the next year. Check this website regularly for upcoming meetings, and newly added draft documents.
What is a Comprehensive Plan and why is it important?
The primary objective of a comprehensive plan is to furnish a document that can be effectively employed by community leaders, planners, developers, zoning officials, and residents to assess the aspirations of the community regarding its growth. This document establishes a vision and sets goals for the Township's future, forming the foundation for all land use regulations within the Township. It serves as a valuable tool for justifying projects, securing grants, making zoning and usage adjustments, and steering improvements in the Township that ultimately enhance the quality of life for its residents.
How to Participate?
Residents will be asked to participate in numerous ways throughout the planning process. Resident participation is crucial because the Plan should directly reflect the opinions, values, and desires of the residents and help the Township act to make those a reality.

Who decides what goes into the Comprehensive Plan?
The policies and recommendations in the Comprehensive Plan will be based on input from a 25+ member Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) comprised of Franklin Township residents, business owners, and Township officials, as well as from the community through online surveys, public forums, and community events.
Working with Warren County Regional Planning and Township Staff, the CAC will spend many hours throughout 2024 collecting and reviewing data, gathering comments from the community working to understand important issues and shared priorities, and developing updated strategies for the Comprehensive Plan.
Staff will post materials developed over the course of the planning project. Please check back often.
